UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025

The UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 is the premier national-level examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to posts such as IAS, IFS, IPS, and other Central Civil Services across India. The selection process consists of three stages:

  • Preliminary Examination: Objective type test comprising two papers: General Studies Paper I and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT).
  • Main Examination: Written test consisting of nine papers (essay, four general studies papers, two optional subject papers, and two qualifying language papers). The seven merit-based papers total 1750 marks and the two qualifying language papers (Indian language and English) are of 300 marks each. Candidates who qualify are invited to the Personality Test.
  • Personality Test (Interview): Conducted at Dholpur House, New Delhi, carrying 275 marks, assessing candidate’s personality, judgment, mental alertness, and other leadership qualities.

The UPSC 2025 Prelims will be held on 25 May 2025 and the Mains will commence on 22 August 2025. Candidates who clear all stages will be selected for various services based on their final ranking and preferences.
